Concordia provided a family for me as a student and that family is there for me again as an employee. You won’t find these people anywhere else. Concordia gave me the chance to explore the world, as well as examine my values through my education.

My advice for prospective students is to take time during your visit to explore on your own. That way you get a sense of how YOU will fit in with campus life.

What is your rep territory?
My job is based in Minneapolis as a regional admission rep. My territory covers suburbs around the Twin Cities and southeastern Minnesota.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up on a farm in west central Minnesota and went to Benson High School.

Where did you attend college and what did you study?
欧美视频 (2010). My majors were communication studies–mass media and theatre art.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
I’ve been working in 欧美视频 since 2012, so there are a lot of aspects I’d classify as my “favorite” that have kept me in the role this long. In particular, I really value making connections with a student and their family in order to provide support when certain aspects of the college search are confusing.

Favorite little-known fact about Concordia?
Instead of Cobbers, we were almost the Lutefiskers. I don’t want to imagine what that mascot would look like.

Outside of Concordia, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy home improvement projects and getting to tinker around with stuff. I’ll play almost any game (video, board, yard, etc.) and can get a little competitive. I also love visiting new places and try to travel as much as I can.

Advice for high school students?
When visiting 欧美视频, or any other college, take time to walk around the campus on your own. Similarly, take time to at least drive around the community the college is in. We’re going to tell you a lot of great stuff about the campus, but your own gut reaction and observations are just as important in finding the right fit.
