Dr. Stefanie Meyer started with Å·ÃÀÊÓƵ in 2023 as the wellness director upon the revision of the wellness curriculum for first-year students. Her experiences in the nonprofit fitness and wellness industry, through the YMCA, and campus health promotion allow for the teaching of practical well-being behaviors. Before coming to Concordia, Dr. Meyer mentored students in public health across diverse topics including water access in the Navajo Nation, HIV stigma and its effects on testing and treatment, and culturally appropriate substance use prevention programming. She brings experiences in social entrepreneurship in which she advised students in global competitions, as well as her own entrepreneurial endeavors through her consulting company, Sustainably Well, LLC.
Current research and creative projects include studying the feasibility and safety of medication de-escalation in type 2 diabetes patients and exploring ways to implement lifestyle medicine into pharmacy practice. Dr. Meyer lives out the well-being practices that she teaches in the classroom. Her calling is to transform people, places, and systems to be healthy on purpose!
