What’s your favorite part of your job?
I love that moment of connection and joy when Concordia clicks with a high school or transfer student, and they get so excited for the future they can build as a Cobber. It’s really special to be a part of.
Favorite little-known fact about Concordia?
The term Cobber was originally an insult aimed at rural communities. When this rural community started its own college and needed a mascot, the leaders at Concordia decided to reclaim the word and turn it into a positive and integral part of our identity and culture. You can’t keep us Cobbers down!
Outside of Concordia, what do you enjoy doing?
I love to get creative and play D&D with my partner and friends. I also love to learn, which means I’m often reading a good book or listening to podcasts.
Advice for high school students?
Connect with a college or university as much as you can when you’re exploring. Meet the people that work there, talk to the students, sit in on a class, sample the food! Take the time to “try on” the campus if you can. It’s the best way to figure out if you want to spend 2-4 years of your life there. :)
