First-Year Packing Checklist

Dorm Essentials

• Small couch, futon, ottoman, or bean bag chair
• Alarm clock
• Small fan and/or HEPA air purifier

• Power strips with surge protection

Students are no longer permitted to bring their own microwave or mini-fridge. Each traditional hall room (including all first-year dorms) comes with a (a microwave and mini-fridge combo unit). Students may work with Disability Services if they require an accommodation for an extra fridge.

Bedding

• Twin XL sheets (extra-long beds in Livedalen, Erickson, Hoyum, Hallett, and Park Region)

• Pets (with the exception of fish) — all Emotional Support Animals must be approved by Disability services prior to the animal coming to campus
• Candles or anything that creates an open flame
• Mini-fridges and microwaves (each room has a fridge/microwave unit provided)
